Muthusamy Sekar

Bio

Dr. Sekar earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College, Madras University, India in 1982. Dr. Sekar was trained in India and England, receiving post graduates degrees in both countries. In England he worked as a Registrar of Cardiology in Sunderland City Hospital, then as Registrar of Transplant Cardiology in Harefield Hospital, the largest transplant center in the world.

Once in the United States, Dr. Sekar completed a residency in internal medicine at State University of New York at Buffalo and a cardiology fellowship at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He is certified in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation through the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Sekar is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He was been recognized as a Top Doc by Atlanta Magazine yearly since 2020.

He is accepting patients in our McDonough and Griffin offices.
