Dhruv Chawla

Dr. Chawla grew up in nearby Lake Oconee and is excited to return home to serve his community. He received his undergraduate education at Emory University and attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He then competed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He pursued further training in Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. During his training, he authored several peer-reviewed publications and was also recognized for his leadership skills as a Chief Fellow. Dr. Chawla is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

As a cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Chawla has received advanced training in the placement of pacemakers and defibrillators as well as ablation of abnormal heart rhythms, such as atrial fibrillation (A Fib), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and ventricular arrhythmias (VT/PVCs). He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. In his spare time, Dr. Chawla enjoys staying active, watching basketball, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
